Summerland in the Okanagan - the New Hot Buy!

According to a socio-economic study done this year by BC Stats, Summerland placed SECOND among 77 regions in a study of the best-off places in the province.

The Socio-economic Indices provide comparative measures among BC regions of six factors:

  • · human economic hardship,
  • · crime,
  • · health problems,
  • · education concerns,
  • · children at risk and
  • · Youth at risk.

In addition to all of the measured characteristics, Summerland is also very close to airports and universities, has the world-class Pacific Agricultural Research Centre within the city limits, offers developable industrial land and has a hardworking and highly educated workforce. It's also right on Okanagan Lake.

The average house in Summerland sells for $350,000 to $450,000. In West Vancouver, the average detached house price last month was $1.87 million. Lots of people are realizing they can sell their multi-million dollar houses on the coast and move to the Okanagan for much less combined with a better quality of life.
