New Downtown Developments
$78 Million! That’s how much development money is begin poured into Downtown Kelowna with current projects that have either started or have been approved.
Some of these development projects have started like the Bernard Avenue Revitalization and the Public Pier while others will start later this year. For example the Kelowna Yacht Club expansion, the Library parkade expansion and the new Interior Health building.
Over the next two years the Queensway rapid bus terminal will begin, the phase two of Stuart Park and Kerry Park revitalization will also start. Plus two new Class A office buildings on Leon Avenue will be finished by the summer.
Furthermore the new RCMP facility will start to take shape within two years. A facelift for the old Bargain store location, the proposed Tourism Kelowna Reception Centre within City Park and the proposed Downtown Boutique Hotel are also on the horizon.
With so much development and expansion happening Downtown Kelowna, other developers are taking note. The DKA attended the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centres) at the end of January and had great success talking about Downtown and the opportunities for new business.
