Whistler celebrates best-ever Cornucopia
Culinary adventure continues with Whistler Dine and Unwind

Whistler, B.C. - Great food and terrific value abound in Whistler as Cornucopia 2006 breaks records and launches fourth annual Whistler Dine and Unwind, November 12 - December 10, 2006.

Tourism Whistler celebrated a decade of culinary excellence with the tenth edition of its Cornucopia Festival of Wine and Food, November 9 - 12, 2006. The festival's success was marked by numerous highlights including a 45 per cent increase in package sales compared to 2005, more program choices for visitors, and 27 sold-out events -the most ever for Cornucopia.

Tickets for Crush! sold out earlier than ever before - more than five weeks prior to the event - and proceeds of from the Silent Auction at Crush! played a significant role in the festival's contribution to the Whistler Arts Council, this year's charity recipient. An estimated $10,000 was donated to the Whistler Arts Council from this year's Cornucopia and these funds are being used to help support various programs of the Council, including the Whistler Children's Art Festival, ArtWalk and ARTrageous.

Whistler Dine and Unwind has opened two weeks early this year, ensuring that the gastronomic delights showcased during Cornucopia continue to delight visitors with tempting restaurant and spa deals. This year's expanded promotion offers even more opportunity to "dine" at some of Whistler's most exciting restaurants and "unwind" at Whistler's blissful spas - all at the best prices of the season.
